Heart of Compassion was birthed out of a divine burden and a compelling conviction to see God's people encounter His love in both word and deed. The vision was not merely to preach Christ but to demonstrate His heart through tangible acts of compassion, justice, and mercy. Founded in December 2015 by Kingsley Akonwie, HOC emerged as a response to the call in 1 John 3:18 which says, "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."
The ministry's humble beginnings were marked by fervent prayer, street outreach, and consistent service to the overlooked and hurting. On November 22, 2019, the first official church plant of HOC was launched at 2nd Tap Ndamukong Street in Bamenda, Cameroon. What began in the heart of one yielded vessel has now become a growing movement of believers seeking to embody the love of Christ by feeding the hungry (Matthew 25:35), healing the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3), equipping leaders (2 Timothy 2:2), and making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).
